Bringing Kit Harington's
vision to life.
We worked with the Games of Thrones star
to produce his directorial debut.
In the early part of 2024, our MD Nick received a call from an old friend: cinematographer Fabian Wagner, with whom Nick originally founded Limehouse in 2007. In the intervening years, Fabian had carved out a successful career in TV and film, working on shows like Sherlock and The Crown, and big-budget Hollywood films including Justice League and Venom: The Last Dance. Meanwhile, Limehouse had become one of the UK’s leading production agencies in the world of corporate and internal comms.
Fabian was working on Game of Thrones when he met Kit Harington, aka Jon Snow. Fast forward a few years, and Kit approached Fabian to take on cinematography duties for an original short film he’d written and planned to direct. After reading the script, Fabian knew the best location for filming would be in the north - specifically around Leeds and Yorkshire. Which led to Fabian asking Nick if Limehouse could take on the production. Fabian recommended Limehouse to Kit, and the project began with a video call between Nick and Kit (much to the excitement of the rest of the team, comprising more than a few Game of Thrones fans).

As a small agency, the production involved almost every member of the Limehouse team. Much like any other project we undertake, roles and responsibilities were assigned at the start, and our various teams began the planning of each aspect of the project.
Pre-production involved scouting appropriate locations for each scene, driving hundreds of miles around Leeds and the moors - often with Kit in the passenger seat - to find the perfect location. Filming permissions have to be sought and copious amounts of paperwork completed.
Sourcing props is a big part of any production, and one of our biggest tasks involved Kit’s desire for a very specific vehicle: a gold Range Rover. After some searching, we found an appropriately cost-effective second-hand Range Rover and had it fully wrapped in gold vinyl. It looked amazing, and you would never know it had 175,000 miles on the clock.
With Kit directing and Fabian in charge of cinematography, filming took place in and around Leeds, Kirkstall, Ilkley Moor and Barton-upon-Humber over the course of a week in May 2024. It was a huge team effort and fantastic collaboration between everyone involved.
We completed some further pickup shots with the gold Range Rover before it was retired and liaised with the post-production team to share all the footage. After several months in edit, the film - now titled Psychopomp - was completed. Kit hosted the premiere for friends and family in Soho in March 2025, and now has his eye on this year’s film festivals.

At Limehouse, we’re constantly espousing the power of storytelling to our clients; it’s the very essence of our approach. This project had all the same elements we’re accustomed to on projects for internal comms or digital learning, just on a bigger and more complex scale. Those elements all exist to support one central goal: bringing the story to life in the best possible way. There’s a lot of satisfaction seeing our approach mirrored in the world of ‘proper’ film, and the experience of working on Psychopomp has cemented our commitment to using the power of storytelling to inspire change for good in everything we do.
